Sean Esenberg played an integral role in turning the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team into a perennial contender within the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). The three-time All-NACC selection and 2013 NACC Freshman of the Year was a member of the Warriors' first two NCAA Championship qualifying teams, in addition to a second- and third-place showing at the NACC Championship. Esenberg, who ranked among the conference's best-scoring players each of his four seasons (2012-2016), possesses three of the top seven single-season scoring averages in program history. A medalist at the 2013 WLC Fall Invitational, Esenberg boasted the best scoring average (77.0) in the conference his rookie season and tied for third overall in his first conference championship appearance. Two years later, the Jackson, Wisconsin, native turned in the second-best scoring average in the league (77.4) as well as a runner-up finish at the conference championship. The six-time NACC Student-Athlete of the Week capped off his senior season with the conference's fourth-lowest scoring average (77.3) and a sixth-place individual finish at the NACC Championship. Esenberg recorded 12 career top-10 finishes and posted a 77.9 career scoring average, good for second in program history.
