One of the most prolific scorers in Wisconsin Lutheran College men's basketball history, Jim Datka graduated as the Warriors' all-time leading scorer when he finished his four-year (1984-1988) playing career. In 82 career games, Datka averaged an impressive 19.7 points per game, which ranks second all-time in program history. He ranks seventh on WLC's all-time scoring list with 1,613 career points, surpassing the 1,000-point plateau during his junior season. Datka poured in 568 points his senior season, which ranks seventh all-time, after dropping 30-plus points in seven games including a career-high 38 points December 9, 1987 vs. Marian College. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native concluded his career with 594 made field goals, which ranks sixth all-time. Datka was also a fixture on the glass, as he pulled down 595 career rebounds, good for 10th in program history, and his 7.3 rebounding average stands seventh in history.
